Safe, comfortable and caring treatment for when a tooth needs to be removed.
This paragraph gives us additional space to discuss the treatment if we require it. It's a pretty concise space to get a direct message across.

Our priority is always to preserve and protect your natural teeth. Extraction is only ever recommended when it’s the best and safest option for your oral health. Our caring team ensures every procedure is carried out with precision, comfort and reassurance.

There are some circumstances where it is necessary to remove a tooth or several teeth, often to eliminate pain and protect the surrounding teeth. Situations when a surgical extraction may be required include:
At Putney Dental & Implant Centre, we carry out both surgical and non-surgical extractions. The right approach will depend on the position and condition of your tooth.
Surgical extraction
When your teeth have particularly long or curved roots, are beneath the gum line or are more difficult to remove, our experienced dental team may need to perform a surgical extraction. This involves making a small incision in the gum to remove the tooth, sometimes in more than one piece.
Non-surgical extraction
When the tooth is visible above the gum line, we perform a simple, non-surgical extraction. Your dentist uses gentle tools to loosen and remove the tooth under local anaesthetic. It’s a quick, routine procedure with minimal recovery time.
We understand that extractions can make patients feel anxious, so our team takes every step to ensure you feel informed, supported and comfortable throughout your visit.

We provide transparent pricing for all extraction procedures, so you know exactly what to expect before treatment begins.

No - you’ll be given local anaesthetic to completely numb the area. Our patients from Putney and Barnes often say the procedure is far more comfortable than expected.
Most patients recover within a few days. Swelling or tenderness is normal but usually resolves quickly with care advice provided by Our team.
Yes - we offer several replacement options including Dental implants and Bridges to restore your smile and prevent shifting teeth.
Avoid hot drinks, smoking and vigorous rinsing for 24 hours. Stick to soft foods and follow the aftercare instructions provided by your dentist.
Surgical extractions are slightly more advanced but completely routine for our experienced dentists in Wandsworth and Southfields. You’ll receive detailed aftercare guidance for a smooth recovery.

If you need a tooth removed, our skilled team at Putney Dental & Implant Centre will ensure your treatment is quick, safe and comfortable from start to finish.
Absolutely thrilled with my experience at the clinic with Dr. Shervin and Simran! From the moment I walked in, Simran made me feel welcome and at ease with her warm, professional manner. Dr. Shervin was incredibly thorough, explaining each step of the treatment with clarity and care. The results were outstanding—my teeth look and feel amazing. Their attention to detail, gentle approach, and genuine commitment to patient comfort truly set them apart. Highly recommend this team for anyone seeking top-tier dental care!
Always very impressed with this dental practice. We’ve used Dr Mojgan Shirkhani for many years. She has monitored my children’s teeth since they were young and has always done a great job. I used her for Invisalign also and she was great and always explained everything so clearly. Would definitely recommend this dental practice.
My son and I, have been going to this dental practice for years now and very happy with the care we receive there. We have both needed some pretty major restorative treatment and on both occasions have felt we were well informed about the treatment, had questions answered and trusted the dentists treating us. When I had a couple of issues afterwards my dentist was always available for me even after hours and at weekends going the extra mile to ensure I knew that help was available. I am more than happy to recommend this practice to anyone needing a new dentist.
As someone who was very loyal to my dentist, I was nervous to see a new one after moving to London, but Olivia has been absolutely amazing. She’s thorough, explains everything she’s doing, and somehow made a root canal a breeze. As someone who used to get dental anxiety, I would highly recommend anyone visit!
